The Capri suite of rosewood tables and sofas was a major success. The organic shapes of this furniture appealed to an international audience. Johannes Andersen was born in Denmark in 1903. After studying cabinetmaking, he obtained his certificate and worked in various workshops. In the mid-1930s, he founded his own architectural practice and began designing more and more furniture. He began collaborating with various Norwegian and Swedish factories, including Trensum. Andersen took advantage of the great consumer boom of the 50s and 60s: Danes were looking to buy more furniture. He produced a large number of pieces of furniture, including coffee tables in several variations, which are still popular today.
