Product description
Scandinavian mid-century teak coffee table, number 1255, made in Denmark, designed by Johannes Andersen for CFC Silkeborg around the 1960's.The piece is composed of a single curved piece of solid teak on top and rests on two teak legs in a T-shape.The edges on the width are rounded and smooth with a darker finish. They are flat on the deep side.Johannes Andersen was deeply attracted to organic forms and flowing lines. He transformed the traditionally square or rectangular panels and surfaces of furniture - such as coffee table tops and dining chair backs - into elegant, imaginative designs with rounded edges and flowing contours. The piece is in good overall original and vintage condition with some light old marks and signs of age and previous use, patina from age and time as well as a faded finish on the top (see photos next to the 1 cent piece for perspective), legs, edges and overall structure (see photos). The table is solid and stable. It has been cleaned, oiled with organic linseed oil and waxed with natural beeswax respecting its original patina.MeasuresMaximum width: 170 cmMinimum width: 138 cmMaximum depth (large side): 77 cmMinimum depth (small side): 55 cm
