Spectacular temple on the card signed by Pedro Mozos, probably the most gallant Spanish artist of the 20th century, although his work is usually considered to belong to the Madrileña school. It represents a scene of the house, formed by three jinetes accompanied by their perros of the house, crossing a river. The technique used, painting at the temple, is responsible for the finishing of the work, practically mate. Signed on the lower right side. Mozos was born in a village in Palencia, but with only 4 years of age he moved to Madrid, where he began to paint in a self-taught way and was gradually introduced into the cultural environment of the capital. He interacted with artists like Ignacio Zuloaga, and at this moment Eugenio D'Ors labeled him a genius. During the civil war he consolidated his artistic career little by little. His work is located between tradition and innovation, it may not be at ease with academic naturalism nor apostate openly for vanguardism. Naturalness was precisely one of his favorite themes. On occasions it was said that “Pedro Mozos painted it so well”. In this sense, he demonstrates his ability to represent the harshness of the classical tradition of Western art in the time of modernity and the avant-garde, but without being completely attuned to these innovations. In his words: “Art, like nature, is eternal and evolves very slowly". During my career I won numerous and prestigious prizes, such as the First Medalla de Pintura de la Exposición Nacional de Bellas Artes. He became the most gallant Castellano plastic artist. Exhibited, both individually and collectively, in the main halls and museums of the country and abroad.
