Product description
IABO "I want to be an artist" (D. Hirst, J.M. Basquiat, Banksy, V. Van Gogh, Blek Le Rat, A. Warhol, K. Haring). Dimensions: artwork 30 x 30 cm. Framed with pink Passe-partout and black wooden frame 45 x 45 cm. Technique: stamp on 300 gram paper. Year 2021. Print run: 19/50. At first glance, Iabo (Naples, 1980) is inspired by the Pop Art of the 1980s. Examine the line and study its form. And he turns it into a real obsession, following a constant search for mechanical perfection, but in an artisanal way. In Iabo, the line between man and machine is very thin. His creations are technically perfect. An agony that led him to experiment and configure a very personal language. Born partly from Street Art experiences, partly from a deep-rooted sense of proportion that emerges from all his works. His pictorial cycle can be traced back to a few movements, recurring leitmotifs. Whether anthropomorphic profiles or mailboxes, prestigious brands or popular subjects, it doesn't matter. Everything is filtered under Iabo's lens that characterizes and identifies them in a very specific brand: his own. A past as a writer, a chameleon-like personality, a strong sense of ethics. Many selection processes have been implemented based on the common imagination, increasingly reduced to the core. And covered with elegance. It would be appropriate to say, "less is more. And that is exactly how it is. The recognizability is not lost in the minimal approach, but is enhanced by some essential features that never disorient the observer. The ironic combination game, the slightly nuanced color range, the even color, the gradient of nuances, the decisive line. Not an artifice, but an exciting game bordering on the most radical cynicism. Unusual juxtapositions between seemingly disjointed images and signifiers, but always functional to convey a positive discourse. Politically correct. Never before aesthetics. Iabo's works are highly topical and useful to identify a historical moment rather than a common feeling. His characters communicate, seek solutions, bridge distances, build relationships and provoke reactions. A work of constant deconstruction and reconstruction. Outside and inside the canvas. We start from a theme and from that emerge infinite variations. Whether it is a parking line or a multiple consumer good, the life cycle of the work always remains irretrievably untouched and deflated. Consumerism comes to life in a hypothetical, recognizable and unreal universe. In a repeatable, morally ethical and adaptable format. Absolutely versatile, aesthetically perfect. Simple, clean, usable. His pictorial production increasingly focuses on the use of Plexiglas as the material of choice to further emphasize the issue of purity of compositional lines. Iabo certainly knows the value of viral marketing. His works cover surfaces of more than five meters and break the boundary between real and imaginary, between human and superhero. If in art anything is possible, in Iabo's universe reality surpasses fantasy. Although popular, iconic pop imagery is not everyone's style. His elaborations are highly refined and designed for an elite of admirers who understand their primary meaning: beyond aesthetics, symmetry and overall harmony. Underlying his constructions is a powerful indictment of cultural flattening. Provocation, directness and improvisation underlie a well-studied, intelligent, cultivated and aptly crafted poetry. Democracy, a sense of candor, originality characterize him as an artist/intellectual child of his time. An indispensable commitment that underlies every creation. Although he is still very young, Iabo succeeds naturally and with extreme simplicity in dealing with burning issues and resolving (unfortunately only on canvas) the existential conflicts that grip our society. Michele Luca Nero (source Artibune) IABO is part of the same street art movement as: Shepard Fairey "Obey Giant," Banksy, Invader, Alec Monopoly, Nomen, Jef Aérosol, JR, C215, Rero, Kaws, D Face, Sandra Chevrier, FinDac, Os Gemeos, Gregos , Jonone, M chat, Taki 183, Jean-Michel Basquiat, keith herring, insane 51, Pichi Avo, pop art, pichiavo, Seen, Cope2, Seth, Mr. Brainwash, Atlas, Blek le Rat, 1up, John perello, Futura 2000 .
