Dutch Modernist design armchair designed by Wim Rietveld and Andre Cordemeyer and produced by Gispen. This armchair has a frame of black painted steel. The back and seat are both made of painted sheet steel with foam rubber padding and fitted with cognac brown leather upholstery.
The chair has two bakelite armrests. Armchair model 1407 belonged to a series of "furniture for the simple interior," introduced in the mid-1950s. The armchair was first shown at the 10th Milan Triennial (1954), where it was awarded a gold medal. The dimensions are: 48 cm wide x 48 cm deep x 75 cm high with a seat height of 41 cm.
