In the 1930s, Sognot began working with Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret. Together, they designed modern furniture using innovative materials such as tubular metal and plywood. Sognot also worked on interior design projects for boats, trains and airplanes. After the Second World War, Sognot continued to work with architects such as Le Corbusier and designed furniture for social housing projects in France. His designs are characterized by modern aesthetics, practical functionality and the use of economical materials. Sognot was also active in promoting the furniture industry in France, founding the Salon des arts ménagers in 1951, which became the Salon du meuble de Paris. He received several awards for his work, including the Légion d'honneur in 1957. Today, Louis Sognot's creations are sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts worldwide.
