Jallot studied at the École Boulle, a renowned art and design school in Paris, where he acquired a solid grounding in cabinetmaking and furniture design. After graduating, he worked in the studio of the famous architect and designer Louis Süe. Throughout his career, Jallot created furniture and decorative objects distinguished by their elegant style and meticulous attention to detail. He was known for his use of high-quality materials, such as precious woods, ivory, brass and marble, as well as for his refined cabinet-making techniques. His creations were often characterized by clean geometric shapes, curved lines and exotic decorative motifs. Jallot drew on a variety of influences, including African, Egyptian and Asian art, to create unique and original pieces. He also designed complete interiors for residential and commercial projects, collaborating with renowned architects of the time. His creations included tea rooms, private mansions, yachts and even luxury liners. Maurice Jallot's reputation quickly spread beyond France. His creations were exhibited at numerous international shows, notably in Paris, London and New York, where he won several prestigious awards. Unfortunately, Jallot's career was interrupted by the Second World War. He had to cease his design activity and retired to the south of France during the war.
