Product description
Heavy silver table or dust tin made by the Zaanse Zilversmederij (formerly Fam. Schoorl) of Amsterdam / Zaandijk. Worked from 1920 to 1990.
The silver tin depicts the naval battle at Terheide on Aug. 10, 1653 during the First English War. The battle between the 'Brederode' the flagship of Maarten Hermensz Tromp and the English flagship 'Resolution' commanded by Admiral Monk.
The original painting was painted by Jan Abrahamsz. Beerstraten. Dating: 1653 - 1666.
The silver tin is hallmarked with the second hallmark, mini square head, master mark z hammer z and year letter j for 1944.
