Yvonne Boelens studied at the Amsterdam School of the Arts and received her diploma in 1999. As a painter, she works in various studios and exhibits her drawings and paintings at various galleries in Amsterdam and abroad. From 2004 to 2008 she ran her own gallery, where in addition to her own work, contemporary visual art by various notable artists from home and abroad was shown. She also ran 2 other galleries, collaborated with well-known names from the art world, developed creative concepts and gives workshops (nude) model drawing and painting to companies and individuals.
As a modern artist, she has turned to the abstract pattern. Her abstract paintings are usually very carefully considered and composed. And has special attention to texture, color contrast, form, line.
Her cartoons and illustrations are characterized by a distinct handwriting, strong and effective lines and are usually done in black and white with occasional accent in color. Each unique drawing is made by hand and tells a whole story in one image.
Yvonne Boelens has several international exhibitions to her name, including the NL/JP Friendship Art Exhibition: "Window to the world" , in September 2007, held at the Nagasaki Museum of History and Culture in Japan, where she represented the Netherlands with modern art. Also, her artworks are part of several private and corporate collections.
