Beautiful work on linen by Gust Verelst (1901-1978). Created in 1943. Signed. Vegetables, fruits, dame Jeanne (bottle), earthen pot, ... are artfully rendered with vigorously brushed brushstrokes. Ideal for the kitchen. Gust Verelst was included in the important book "Belgian visual artists" by Piron. Page 2648 gives you a nice overview of what the man meant (see photo).
