Product description
The original statue was donated to America by the CCCP in 1957 and is located in United Nations Park, New York. Designed by E.V. Vuchetich. Famous for his heroic sculptures, Vuchetich received the Lenin Prize in 1970 and was a five-time winner of the Stalin Prize (1946-1950). The sculpture serves as a symbolic call for peace and creative work. It features a peaceful athlete who, with a powerful movement of his right hand with hammer, forges an upright sword, bent by his efforts, into plowshares. On the back is a silver shield with the text; "To the Delegation of the Hungarian People's Republic of Workers Kalininsky District Moscow October 1973" Kalininsky District is the name of several administrative and municipal districts in Russia . The districts are generally named after Mikhail Kalinin , a Soviet statesman. The Kasli factory has been casting the statue since the early 1960s.
