Jef Wauters (Mariakerke, Feb. 26, 1927 - Roeselare, Feb. 19, 2013) was a Flemish artist. Although he somewhat isolated himself from his peers and lived and worked somewhat withdrawn, away from the public eye, he remained a highly appreciated painter at home and abroad.
The work hung for many years in a smoke-free room with no pets. The copper, heavy frame with plate is intact. There is a small, barely visible scratch on the glass plate.
