The now 81-year-old Walter van Oel (1942) is known for his colorful works of art. This screen print from 1990 shows a combination of geometric and figurative art in an almost abstract configuration. If you look closely, you will recognize human figures and objects in the expressionistic forms.
Image dimensions (h x w): 50 x 40 cm
Edition: H/C - 4/25, which indicates that this copy comes from a limited (extra) edition that was not intended for sale.
The screen print with beautiful white passe-partout is in very nice condition.
The work is professionally framed in a beautiful "thick" silver-colored wooden frame. The whole makes a chic and also a cool impression.
The frame shows some paint loss in some places, but that is appropriate for its age and certainly not disturbing given the coarse and solid structure of the frame.
Equipped with hanging wire so it can be hung on the wall!

Walter van Oel is a great contemporary artist. He inherits the simplicity of the best Mondrians and Minimalists. His brush has the energetic power of abstract Expressionists. Yet his paintings are not simple or abstract.
Van Oel is proud of the name 'colorist'. This is an artist whose message only gains meaning with and through color. When entering a space with his works, one cannot escape the buzzing fascination. Colors as energy. Sometimes the energy is subdued, other times the energy vibrates with the shock of contrast. Interestingly, the shades and combinations of Van Oel's colorful world are simple.
