JAZZBAND. Large painting, 100×80 cm. Acrylic on canvas This is the largest version I made of this painting, so it will fit even in the largest room. Like the others, it is painted with a knife rather than a brush to give it more energy and reflect the movement of the musicians. The colors also contrast to give it a more emotional impact. The sides are painted and it is ready to hang. It is also signed.
My name is Jim Ewing. I am a Scottish painter and now live in Arnhem.
Before I retired, I owned two art galleries in Britain, one in Glasgow and one in Manchester.
After retirement, I spent 10 years cruising the Greek islands on my small yacht, painting and selling my work along the way.
In 2014, I moved to the Netherlands, set up my studio and began painting full-time.
Since then, I have sold my work in Britain, Ireland, Europe, Scandinavia, the U.S., Canada and even Taiwan.
I sell my work through local exhibitions, through various galleries and online. I also welcome visitors to my studio.
