"Waiting for the Night Queen to Come Out" & "The Night Queen" is a diptych in linoleum. The work is about the beauty of the white Night Queen flower of the cactus that blooms once in the night. In the first work, the flower is still in bud. To fully bloom it takes time and requires certain nutrition and water. In the second work "The Night Queen," the flower is budding but not yet fully blooming. This diptych is about the beauty of blooming, dying off and that new flowers come again, an eternal circle xo like life is. The work has a beautiful relief because the lines have been cut into linoleum with gouge blades. The work includes a protective coating layer and a hardwood frame. Anneke Winterman created this work in March 2025. Anneke Winterman creates free work and commissioned work.
