Vitra Coconut chair The Vitra Coconut Chair is a design by George Nelson. The iconic shape of the Coconut Chair is a standout that beautifully compliments a variety of spaces. From living rooms to lobbies to waiting rooms, the comfortable seating will come into its own in many places. Nelson compared the shape of the chair to part of a coconut that had been chopped into eight pieces. The Coconut Chair owes its name to this comparison, but whereas in a real coconut the inside is white, the chair actually has that color on the outside. The chairs are sold individually.
