The "room within a room" is a concept that Vitra has been pursuing intensively with the designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for a long time. The idea of mobile micro-architectural elements gave rise to the Alcove sofa family in 2006, which has been continuously developed ever since. The almost one and a half meter high side and back panels of the Alcove Highback sofa are upholstered and fabric-covered - for acoustic dampening, a homely overall appearance and corresponding comfort. The product characteristics of Alcove go beyond the quality of pure furniture: with side and back panels of different heights, they form spaces in the room - and are therefore ideal places for concentrated work, as a cozy retreat or for small group discussions.
