Product description
flight by Marco Zanuso for Zanotta, Italy, 1960s
Coffee table "Zanuso", one of the BEST examples of industrial design, is composed of two glass shelves and 18/8 stainless steel legs. This table, born as an ideal mix between research and innovation, is the result of advanced research in the automotive industry, fixing glass and stainless steel for the first time. The idea was born by Aurelio Zanotta, observing the deflectors of cars: simple pawls glued to the glass. He then decided to apply the system to his production, entrusting the task to the top architects/designers of the time: Marco Zanuso, who then found the solution to fix the steel legs to the glass top: simply glue directly on top (with a technique unprecedented, in which the glue was polymerized with UVA rays) 4 stainless steel discs, threaded inside, and then screw the legs onto them.
