Vintage designer vase Sgrafo by Peter Muller in perfect condition.
Peter Müller, along with his brother Klaus, took over a small porcelain factory that their father had started in 1955. Soon after, he made a dramatic change to the traditional production line and began designing more modern forms that were quite different from other ceramics produced in Germany at the time.
He developed and patented a new technique for making porcelain called sgrafo. He laid two or three layers of differently colored porcelain on top of each other and then carved the surface, revealing the varied colors. He was the only one to do this process in the 1950s and 1960s.
Each item had a unique number. The vase is 1103.
