Very cool, vintage, mid-century UFO hanging lamp made of opal glass with gold edges and a circuit board type design from the 50s to 60s.
Made of a single piece of coated or opal glass, the body of this suspension is indeed the design of a disk or "flying saucer." The top and conical top are white; the bottom is the same color, with a beige-gold textured pattern that resembles a mesh and looks like tiny laminated components of a circuit board. The center trim and bottom edge have a golden copper color. The piece comes with its original ceiling mount and cord with a rubber washer to adjust the height, a plastic hook for hanging or mounting to the ceiling, and its original brass socket, which fits a small B22 bayonet bulb up to 250 V. (bulb not included.)
The lamp is in very good original condition, with slight signs and marks of previous age and use commensurate with time, on the overall structure and upper and lower trim, as well as a patina of age (see photos.) A very small mark on the inside of the lower rim (see photo), some faded areas on the trim, but nothing that affects its beauty or cool design. A small crack on the plastic ceiling mount (see photo), but it remains solid and works as intended when hung. No cracks or chips on the body of the piece.
The lamp has been tested and works properly. When lit, it emits a warm glow (see photos.) Fantastic lighting, with a wonderful retro "space age" design, that will fit well in any given environment with other decor.
