Product description
Fun table and five stools set in polypropylene, Space Age style, produced by the Italian brand Gianplast in the 1970s, following the iconic Tam Tam Diabolo model by French designer Henry Massonnet. The Tam Tam stool was designed in 1968 by Henry Massonnet, and soon became an essential piece of 20th century furniture. Originally, it was designed as an easily removable seat for fishing enthusiasts. Its careful hourglass-shaped design and its great lightness, as well as its striking colors, were the main reasons for its success. It achieved such success that it was exhibited at the MoMA. It is ideal for small spaces, children's rooms or terraces. A practical, light, easily removable and stackable set, as well as original and fun thanks to its shapes and color. The Space Age It follows the aesthetic canons of the Space Age style, a style that has returned with a vengeance and is part of current trends in interior design and decoration. The “Space Age” occurred between the late 1950s and early 1970s. It is based on the idea of an optimistic world after the success of atomic energy and space travel. This style has as its aesthetic inspiration the North American space race and everything that has to do with outer space such as space satellites, helmets, ships, the effect of weightlessness and an optimistic proposal for a new futuristic lifestyle. The sphere is adopted as the main morphological reference, as we see in the design of this piece, referring to satellites or space helmets. Aerospace engineers influenced design and architecture through the adaptability of the materials they created for flight. This aesthetic had influence in all fields of design: architecture, industrial products, interiors, clothing, graphics, textiles, etc... and also on great designers. Dimensions: Table: 52 x 59 x 59 cm. Stools: 44 x 31 cm.
