Product description
Vintage mid-century side table with drawer by Herbert E. Gibbs, circa 1950s-60s.
The piece is made of solid oak with an English plywood top with rounded edges and has a beautiful soft brown color. The fully functional drawer features a clean, minimalist design with dovetail joints and no pull knob, but rather an insert under the front, allowing it to be opened (see photos.)
The maker's mark, "Herbert E. Gibbs", is present (see photo.) The piece is in overall good, original, vintage condition, with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with the passage of time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall structure, top, edges, drawer front, sides and feet, as might be expected for a piece of this age. The inside of the drawer is clean, with some light marks of age and previous use (see photos).
The piece is solid and stable and would look great in a variety of rooms, whether used as an occasional table in a living room, den or office, as well as a nightstand/ bedside table in a bedroom.
All photos are taken in natural outdoor light, so colors may vary depending on the light, angles and perspective from which they are viewed.
