Vintage PH 5 pendant lamp by Poul Henningsen for Louis Poulsen (Denmark). The PH5 - named for its 50 cm diameter - is a classic of Danish and world design, designed by Poul Henningsen in 1958 (like other great classics produced by Louis Poulsen). It is composed of five white lacquered aluminum reflectors suspended on four purple lacquered wire ropes. The interior of two of the lower reflectors is colored blue, the others in red to balance the light spectrum and bring artificial light closer to natural light. The unique shape of PH 5 lamps is based on an algorithmic spiral where the focal point of the light source is in the center of the spiral, provide diffuse and anti-reflective lighting. Most of the light is directed down the aluminum sides of the assembly and a smaller part to the sides, in a more subdued form. In very good condition: a small lack of paint on one of the reflectors. The upper part, which integrates the soquet, has a small missing, but is invisible when the lamp is hung. Diameter: 50 cm. Height: 30 cm. Sold due to renewal and deco change. Carefully packed.
