Acrylic on canvas “Seabed”, Henar Sastre, Contemporary Art, 19th century. XXI – Castilla y León
This curious painting is an explosion of colors and shapes that captures underwater life in a striking and abstract style, made and signed by Henar Sastre. In the center of the canvas, three yellow, blue and red fish swim in all directions creating an effect of movement and vitality. In the right corner, a small Neptune turns towards the viewer holding a trident, while appearing to recede into the background. In the upper left part of the painting, a radiant sun shines in shades of yellow and orange, its light passing through the water, creating a shine and glow effect. The surface of the water is dotted with small waves and ripples, which mix with the colors of the sun and fish, creating a feeling of fluidity and dynamism. In the upper right part of the painting, a jellyfish floats in the water, its lighter colored body and undulating tentacles mixing with the blue and violet tones of the seabed, creating a feeling of weightlessness and mystery.
It is a celebration of underwater life, with its vibrant colors and contagious energy. The abstract style, with those strong, almost Fauvist colors, gives a feeling of freedom and expression, with bold brushstrokes and intense colors that capture the beauty and vitality of the underwater world.
