Magnificent series of small-format oil paintings depicting some of Valladolid's most emblematic and beautiful places: the Plaza Mayor, the Pasaje Gutiérrez and a view of the cathedral from Calle Cascajares.
Signed and dated by José A. Gutiérrez in 2024, a local painter who began experimenting with oil painting with this series of works painted from life. The preliminary study of each work is appreciated. Line and drawing predominate, with great detail. In all the works, the point of view is complex, which avoids showing the buildings from the front, and the vanishing point alone takes center stage. Similarly, the use of saturated, bright and cheerful colors is remarkable.
