Knut Grane, Manhattan Swing, 1990 Color lithography Number 125/150 The work is signed by the artist, dated and individually numbered (pencil) Work dimensions 39/36 The work is framed Knut Bernhard Grane was born on March 10, 1926 in Gothenburg, died on February 26, 2016. He was a Swedish graphic designer, illustrator, painter and craftsman. Grane graduated from Hvitfeldtska Läroverket in Gothenburg in 1945, then studied art with Nils Wedel at the Slöjdföreningen school and at the graphic school of the Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. After graduation, he was employed as a draftsman at the Swedish Telegram Agency, and then at the Allhema publishing house in Malmö. He participated in the Charlottenborg Spring Exhibition 1951. Among his public works are a blacksmith in the Rosengård estate, a ceramic wall in Högaholm, art decoration at the Högaholm school in Malmö, a painting for Herrljung Cementindustri, an entrance decoration for Skånska Brand in Lund and a monumental painting above the stage on Amiralen dance palace scene. Today his works can be seen in museums in Gothenburg, Malmö and Helsingborg. Work in original vintage condition. The frame shows minor signs of use.
