Product description
Designed by Swedish design favourites of the 50s and 60s, Johan Huldt and Jan Dranger. In 1968, Huldt and Dranger established the company Innovator. In the early 1970s, Dranger and Huldt were very successful with furniture in strong steel tubes and lamps of an industrial character, painted in strong colours. They had an early desire to change the Swedish furniture industry. Both were concerned with social justice and had grown tired of traditional furniture design. They wanted away from brown furniture that cost the ordinary wage earner several months' wages. Their reaction was to make affordable furniture for their own generation. Something that attracted young people and added color to everyday life. Otherwise, as was said: "They wanted to make the furniture's jeans." At the same time, they were concerned with the ideas of functionalism. The design should be easy to understand and the construction logical. In 1977, Innovator was disbanded.
The chair is in good vintage condition, showing minor traces of wear and age, but remains structurally sound.
Height 87 cm, depth 75 cm, width 57 cm, seat height 40 cm. Footstool 58 x 55 cm.
