Product description
This late 19th- to early 20th-century neo-Renaissance desk is distinguished by its richly detailed sculptures of 16th-century animals, flowers and mythology. It also features fabulous animals and fantastic characters. The oak structure is quite massive. The belt consists of a large central drawer and two superimposed box drawers on either side. There's a secret compartment inside the bottom right-hand drawer (key missing, not locked). A top with a crack along the length, wood that's been worked, retouched with wood pulp that's cracked over time)). the top slides to optimize work space, on the top rest drawer tiers with a central niche. A small restored arabesque (see photo) A carved edge surrounds the top. The Louis XIII-style twisted column base is h-shaped. Full of charm and authenticity, very well maintained, waxed wood.
