For sale: Vintage modular wall system designed by Poul Cadovius and produced in Denmark in the late 1950s/early 1960s. The system has hung since purchase in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. On the back the delivery address is still visible! Poul Cadovius (1911-2011) was a Danish designer and entrepreneur, best known for his innovative furniture systems. In 1948, he designed the Royal System, a modular wall unit that was revolutionary for its space-saving and flexible features. This system consisted of wooden shelves hung from wall slats with brackets, giving a floating effect. The Royal System was one of the first hanging system furniture and gained worldwide recognition for its minimalist design and functionality. It was manufactured in a variety of wood species, including teak, oak and rosewood. Early versions of the Royal System, mainly from the 1950s and early 1960s, used wooden dowels (devils) as connectors for construction. On the back, they are marked CADO. The system was imported by us directly from Denmark and features 8 cabinets (from record cabinet to drawer unit), 14 shelves in various depths and over 5 meters of wall panels. The system has sun discoloration. Little to no veneer damage. In very good condition! Asking price: 3500 euros. Delivery possible. Feel free to ask about the possibilities.
