This modernist chair was designed by Erik Buch for the Danish manufacturer Anderstrup Møbelfabrik during the 1950s. It is model 89. Made of high-quality teak wood in a dark shade of brown. The contoured, comfortable seat and backrest are upholstered with high-quality black vinyl. The chair is made with the greatest attention to detail. It will work perfectly in many arrangements.
Erik Buch is a designer born in Copenhagen. His furniture is characterized by an organic and functional aesthetic. The first success was the Model 49 chair from 1949. It features a curved, floating seat and classic Scandinavian design. Probably his most famous piece is the Model 61 bar stool from 1961, which has a typically Scandinavian base with organically carved lines. Many of Buch's projects are named after the year in which they were created. Other Buch designs include the Captain's Chair (1955) for Ørum Møbler, the Model 310 dining chair for Chr. Christiansen, and a T-shaped bar stool for Dyrlund.
The chair is in original vintage condition. It has minor signs of use due to age. The seat is at a height of 44 cm.
