This table lamp was designed by Louis Kalff and produced by Philips Netherlands in the 1960s. Known as model "Romeo.
The lamp has a (concrete-)gray painted metal base, a socket and a large round shade, connected by a chromed steel leg.
The design is reminiscent of a UFO and also fits in the so-called Space Age era. Very elegantly shaped and in good condition. Has some scratches and signs of use consistent with age. See also the pictures.
Dimensions (hxwxd): 41,5 x 28,5 x 28,5cm.
Material: (concrete) gray lacquered round flat base with built-in switch. Cast iron counterweight in the foot. Philips logo stamped into the base. Folded metal, chromed rod and parts. Gray lacquered aluminum mushroom-shaped UFO-style lampshade with a hole in the center. Inside painted white.
Technically the lamp is 100%.
Electricity: 1 light bulb E27, 1 x 100 watts maximum, 110/220 volts. Any type of bulb with an E27 socket can be used. For this lamp preferably a silver tip incandescent lamp (head mirror lamp) for the down-light effect.
