Product description
Large, fantastic, vintage, mid-century ceramic vase, made by Scheurich - Keramik, West Germany, from the 1960's.The body itself, has a beautiful sand-grain effect glaze, with shades of beige, brown and white, combined with a brighter, smoky-brown glaze, which gives the piece the "lava-drip" effect of this period. The mouth and lip turn into a slightly darker glaze with the same effect as on the body The inside of the vase and the base (where the maker's mark and model number can be seen) are brown (see photos.)This piece is in superb condition with very slight signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time on the body, interior and base, as it has been very well cared for over the years (see photos.) There are no cracks or chips on the body, lip, mouth or base. 1, very small run of white glaze on one edge of the base (see photos.) It remains as solid and sturdy as it is beautiful. This piece bears a maker's mark:~ Labeled with country of origin: '' W Germany ''~ Labeled with maker's name: ''scheurich-KERAMIK''~ Numbered: ''239-41''- H: 41 cm- Diameter: 16.5 cmAn incredible collectible decorative piece that will complement any mid-century rustic contemporary or modernist atmosphere, whether used as a centerpiece in a dining room, a coffee table or side table, as decoration for a large shelf or credenza, as an accent piece in an entrance hall, etc.All photos are taken in natural, indoor light, so colors may vary depending on the lighting, angles and perspective from which they are viewed.
