Product description
Designed in Belgium in the 1970s. This sculptural table is a perfect example of postmodern design. The handmade abstract base is made from thick solid marble beams which are placed horizontally and vertically. The form of the base changes from every perspective. The round top is made of thick glass and gives a clear view on the impressive base. The Marble that was used has beautiful grey, beige, rose fragments and is a typical 'breccia' stone. A breccia stone belongs to a geological formation in which marble was broken. It then generated large fragments of debris embedded later in another geological formation which crystallized as well. Visually it seems that some materials surround large “islands” that differ in typology and color.
