Product description
Georg Leowald was a German architect and furniture designer. He followed the traditions of the Bauhaus and the Deutscher Werkbund. He was born in Düsseldorf in 1908 and came to Berlin after studying architecture, where he worked as an architect until 1941 and later as a freelance architect. From 1947, he worked as a teacher at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste in Berlin. Leowald also designed furniture and buildings on the side. In 1949, Leowald won first prize in a competition organized by the New York Museum of Modern Art for his chair design.
The chairs are in very good condition, as can be seen in the pictures. However, vintage items may show some slight signs of wear such as unobtrusive scratches and other signs of time.
