For sale: the standard for vintage design: a teak sideboard designed by H.W. Klein for Bramin, Denmark. H.W. Klein, or Henry Walter Klein, was born in Norway in 1919. During World War II, he joined the Royal Norwegian Navy as a cabinetmaker. Two years later he left to study at the Danish Technical School, where the great Finn Juhl taught! In 1959 he completed his studies and qualified as a designer. He decided to set up his own company and developed new production techniques, especially using plastics. Unfortunately, his ingenious ideas were sometimes too expensive. To solve this major problem, he invited the most important players in Scandinavian design to come and see his creations. A real success: Fritz Hansen bought the patents! During the economic crisis of the 1980s, Klein moved to the U.S. and produced furniture for Americans. Klein designed numerous pieces of furniture for bedrooms and living rooms, as well as for churches and hotels. He also did several commissions for the Prince of Saudi Arabia. His enfilades, armchairs, chairs and tables are timeless pieces of Scandinavian design. Bramin Møbelfabrik (originated from the N.A. Jørgensens Møbelfabrik), refers to where the factory stood; Bramming in Jutland, Denmark. Bramin Møbelfabrik has always focused on high-end furniture. Solid wood furniture in rosewood, oak or teak. The sideboard has two sliding doors which fall gracefully behind the shaped edges and can slide in front of the drawers. The four drawers in the middle complete the sideboard. The sideboard has been polished and put in an appropriate Danish oil. On the top there is a spot restored in Denmark (see picture top). Otherwise in perfect vintage condition!
