A top piece from the design world: sideboard designed by Henry Rosengren Hansen for Skovby Møbler under model number 65. Made of the best materials available in oak laid, original dark stained and made in the 1960s.
Henry Rosengren Hansen is today considered one of the most important Danish furniture designers of the first half of the 20th century. His creations have been exhibited in museums around the world, including MoMA in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
In the 1940s, Henry Rosengren Hansen founded his own design company, HRH (Henry Rosengren Hansen). Here he created a number of modernist wooden furniture pieces. His designs became widespread in the 1950s and 1960s, mainly through collaborations with furniture manufacturers such as Fritz Hansen.
He designed the famous J77 chair, which is now considered a classic in Danish design. In addition to this classic, his work is known for its excellence, characterized by clean, functional lines.
The sideboard is in virtually undamaged condition. No signs of use were found. This is a vintage item, barring minor useless user marks from 60+ years of use. The item has been polished and put in an appropriate Danish oil.
