For sale: vintage chest of drawers in teak produced in Denmark and designed by Poul Volther. Volther studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen from 1945 to 1950, where he was influenced by the functionalist design of Arne Jacobsen and Poul Henningsen. After graduation, he worked as a freelance designer and quickly gained a reputation for his innovative designs. Volther has worked for many Danish furniture companies, including FDB, Erik Jørgensen and Kvist Industries, and has won numerous awards for his designs. He is recognized as one of the most important designers of his time and has been honored with several retrospective exhibitions of his work. The chest of drawers was produced in the 1950s/60s and comes directly from its country of origin. The chest of drawers has no less than 6 well sliding drawers with solid wood handles, sleekly designed. The unit stands firmly on its tapered legs. The chest of drawers has been polished and put in an appropriate Danish oil. Then again well polished. Little to no traces of use. Asking price: 595 euros. Delivery possible.
