Coffee table by jos de mey, for the ghent furniture manufacturer van den berghe - pauvers, 1960s. In the 1950s and 1960s jos de mey had his own practice in interior design, color advice and furniture design. From 1968 he was active as a painter. The table has a wooden oak veneer top with ceramic tile inlay and a minimalistic design. At the bottom there is a wooden drawer unit (manufacturer's logo inside), black lacquered wooden base with magazine compartment. The table shows some signs of age with some scratches and small spots of veneer missing on the drawer (see photos) I bought this table from the first owner who ordered at the showroom of the factory.
