Gorgeous, coffee/tea set, in the style of Langeais, circa 1849-1909. This beautiful trio has a creamer, sugar bowl and tall, coffee/tea pot, with a tin or pewter lid, featuring a small, ornate design typically found on many glazed, earthenware pieces from this region of France during this epoch, when both production and forms of decorative objects were diverse. All three of these pieces showcase a silver-plated coating. The inside of the creamer and sugar bowl, also have been coated with a stunning, gold-colored finish known as "silver-gilt" or "gilded/gilt silver", in English, for the French term "vermeil", silver which has been gilded with gold, that truly pops in contrast with the exterior. The handles on the sides, have a unique shape like a "J" or the number "7"; their black color, presents a nice contrast to the bodies. *There is a stamp at the bottom of all three pieces. The design of the bodies and handles of all three pieces, is reminiscent of certain Napoleon III style, coffee/tea sets. The set is in overall wonderful, original and vintage condition, with minuscule signs of age and previous use commensurate wuth time, as well as a patina of time, considering its age. It is indeed rare to find a complete set like this one, as many objects such as this, are often sold individually. A lovely set with a unique design, that will compliment any given atmosphere. ~ Very light signs of age and use commensurate with time. ~ No cracks or chips. ~ Lid on coffee/tea pot functions. ~ Patina consistent with age and time. -Set has only been gently dusted with respect to its original patina of time.
