Product description
Roger Feraud was an innovative French furniture designer who used the latest materials of the time, such as chromed metal and tubular steel, which can be found in some of his works. Feraud worked with the French manufacturing company Cromos, which brought many of his designs to life.In 1951, when American chemist Linus Carl Pauling created a model of DNA as a series of spheres and rods, this inspired Roger Feraud to create what would become some of his most famous creations, the "atomic" series that included coat racks and hat stands (sometimes with umbrella stand) with black, solid steel frames decorated with his signature painted solid wood balls. This is a wonderful example of his work. The stand was made to hold hats and coats, with the typical solid wood balls at the ends designed with a mirror in the middle, and an umbrella stand at the bottom with the original drip tray. The wooden balls still have the original lacquer. In short, a real eyecather for a space age or vibtage interior.
