Product description
This chair was originally called “BKF”. The letters refer to the surnames of his three designers Antonio Bonet, Juan Kurchan and Jorge Ferrari Hardoy. Together they formed the Austral Group, which designed the chair in 1938 for an apartment building in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Over time, the chair was given the name Butterfly chair thanks to its characteristic design. Knoll also issued this chair for a period of time until the license expired. After that, a lot of cheaper versions came onto the market. Knoll presented another 80th anniversary chair in 2018. This is an original old frame, made of steel and crocheted over it is the still strong blue canvas in its original condition. The chair was once purchased at the Bijenkorf in the 1970s. Much nicer proportions than the versions that you can currently buy everywhere and also much better quality! Build to last, so to speak.
