Scheurich was founded 1928 by Alois Scheurich and his nephew Fridolin Greulich as a wholesaler of glass, porcelain and ceramics. In 1938, Scheurich settled in Kleinheubach (70 kilometers southeast of Frankfurt). In 1948, they began manufacturing household ceramics. In 1954, Scheurich stopped the wholesale business and focused entirely on making their own ceramics. Initially, they made mainly bowl bowls and ashtrays, but soon switched to vases and flower pots.
