Vintage ceramic copy of Colima dog vessel.
Dogs were see as a source of life ,providing food, healing, companionship, but their undying loyalty also linked them to afterlife. Colima dog figurines were often left in schaft tombs as a funerary offering of food and protection for the deads underworld journey.
This vessel will be great addition to your vintage collection. It can be also used as a candle holder.
It has few small chips across the body( please see the pictures), lovely vintage patina. Otherwise it is in a good vintage condition.
