Product description
This rare leather sofa was designed during the 1950s. A form referring to the design of the Bauhaus school, where the aim was to combine creative imagination, art and technology with practical knowledge and craftsmanship. The teachers and students of the Bauhaus used metal in the furniture industry because in their opinion it perfectly met the criteria of modernity. Metal was a material that did not represent any style, it was an expression of function and structure. A dark chocolate-colored loose leather is mounted on a geometric, chrome-plated metal frame. This sofa has two removable pillows, upholstered in black natural leather with symmetrical quilting. As an alternative, it has a second, smooth seat cushion, also covered with black natural leather. Soft cushions make it a very comfortable sofa, and the low profile, typical of that era, is perfect for many arrangements. It is a strong and distinct piece of furniture, designed according to the idea of sharp, brutalist design and minimalist style. This sofa is in original vintage condition with a natural patina. It has visible changes on the leather that result from age. The seat is 38 cm high.
