Product description
Birdie Lettura" floor lamp designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba for Foscarini, s. XXI - Italy
Extraordinary "Birdie Lettura" floor lamp designed by Ludovica and Roberto Palomba for Foscarini. Transversal and welcoming, it is a contemporary reinterpretation of the classic lampshade. Made from resistant, lightweight materials, it is dynamic thanks to the infinite possibilities of positioning on its circular base.
Composed of a circular base, an elongated tubular body with a small branch and a circular shade. The lighting system, designed as a branch, is particularly striking, ready to welcome a bird. A protagonist capable of characterizing an entire environment in the amaranth versions, as is the case here. Dreamy and playful, the Birdie floor lamp can be placed in both private and public spaces, whether in a library, a reading corner or an office. Extraordinary as a reading lamp, thanks to its diffused, direct light.
Ludovica and Roberto Palomba founded their own studio in Milan in 1994, and have since devoted themselves to planning architectural projects, interior design, and collaborating as product designers and art directors with leading brands on the international scene, receiving many important awards such as the Compasso d'Oro.
Their philosophy is to create objects that immediately interact with the people who choose them, establishing an intimate, meaningful and lasting relationship, as demonstrated by the longevity of their projects. Numerous projects have been designed for Foscarini, such as Birdie and the Gregg, Tartan and Rituals models, explorations of unprecedented expressive possibilities for blown glass.
Foscarini
Founded in 1981 on Murano (Venice), a small island in the Venetian lagoon, Foscarini is an Italian company of designer lamps now famous the world over. The company's links with the region are evident right from the name, a tribute to the Venetian noble family of the same name, and are embodied in the production of crystal chandeliers, originally intended for work, but soon joined by decorative lamps, which quickly became the company's core business. In 1988, Foscarini was acquired by Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vecchiato, who drove the company's success by recruiting Italian and international designers. In over thirty-five years of history, the Venetian company has received two Compasso d'Oro awards, in 2001 and 2014. It is now present in over eighty-eight countries.
