Product description
Bernhard Pedersen & Son Teak sideboard designed in 1965, the essence of Danish Modern with its clean lines, functional design, and expert craftsmanship.
Bernhard Pedersen & Son (Est. 1902) is a Danish furniture maker with a long and strong tradition in furniture and cabinetmaking. The furniture produced between the 1950s and 1970s is considered some of the most stunning and well-executed pieces in the company’s history, and this sideboard is the perfect example of this.
The sideboard features tambour doors that roll seamlessly into the back. A technique rarely used today, that is not only pleasing to the eye but also functionally ideal as it minimizes the space needed to access the inside of the cabinet. The interior is beautifully finished with adjustable shelves on each side and a middle section consisting of four pull-out dovetail trays for added storage. The curved front edges are constructed in solid wood, as are the tambour doors, base, and legs. To add extra detail to the design, the legs are pulled slightly under the sideboard to account for skirting boards, making it possible to place the piece up close to the wall. There is a small wires hole in the back, please see the image.
As with any restored piece, there are still some minor areas of light wear commensurate with age (please see the images).
Dimensions: 211cm length, 51cm wide and 79cm height.
