Richard Rooze & Jarda Wasserbauer
The Yellow House,
Glass sculpture by Richard Rooze and Jarda Wasserbauer.
The Yellow House, 2 Place Lamartine, Arles France. The house where Vincent van Gogh lived from February 1888 to April 1889. This sculpture represents not only the physical "Yellow House," as Vincent called his home in Arles, but in addition, the small bubbles in the glass seem to represent the many ideas and fantasies that came into his head. The Yellow House is the result of the collaboration between Rooze and Wasserbauer. The glass sculpture version one is made in a limited edition of 100 pieces. A minimalist version as shown in the painting. Version two is based on the building plan of the house with a sloping rear facade. Version two was also made in a limited edition of 100 pieces.
