Trees de Vries (1925-2013) Around 1970 she moved from Haarlem to Burum in Friesland. Her little farm in the middle of a meadow gave her the peace, space and inspiration to develop creatively. Trees is self-taught, a member of De Ploeg and Fryske Kultuerried and registered with the RKD. As a textile artist she has designed gobelins. With these she exhibited at home and abroad. Around the 1990s Trees started to focus on making graphics. She made a voyage of discovery through the world of form and transformed from the visible world into abstract , for outsiders mostly unrecognizable figures. The works are constructed in shades of gray and sometimes supplemented with sparse use of color. The print is in very good condition and is hand-signed at the bottom.
