Product description
Born in 1944, French designer Gilles Derain is a child of classic modernism. Only a few years earlier, in 1939, at the height of modernism on the occasion of the New York World's Fair, the landmarks "Trylon and Perisphere" were created. The 185-meter tall Trylon Tower tapers towards the top and is based on a triangle. The name consists of the words 'triangular' and 'pylon'. With the Trylon and Torchère lamps for the Italian manufacturer Lumen Center Italia, Gilles Derain devoted himself to the formal model in 1984 and 1987 respectively, but turned the tables in the true sense of the word. The wider, triangular shape points upwards, the tip downwards. The powder-coated metal structure in different colors and metal versions hangs on the wall like a torch. Integrated LEDs shine indirectly into the room, their light intensity can be varied via a dimmer.
