The Hague artist Ton Pape (1916-2003) knew better than anyone how to style the atmosphere in a living room of the sixties and seventies. Trained as a visual artist at the Hague Academy of Visual Arts, he developed a beautiful oeuvre of paintings and drawings, but in addition to his autonomous work, he also made a name for himself as a designer of fabrics, rugs and wallpaper. Many prints from that time can be recognized as real designs by Ton Pape. His gouaches of the designs (gouache on paper) are painted by hand. It is an original gouache. Unique work! And a 'must have' in a retro interior!
You can view the work in advance in the treasury of Galerie Rotor in Gorinchem or pick it up after purchase. Sales are made via the Whoppah platform. The work can also be sent via registered mail.
If desired, we can carry out the framing work for you.
The paper on which the gouache is pasted is yellowed, as can be seen in the first photo. The Gouache itself is not discoloured.
